Nedeľa 6. týždňa po Päťdesiatnici / Uzdravenie ochrnutého

Napriek tvrdým srdciam ľudí sa Ježiš nevzdáva. Naďalej klope na naše dvere a čaká, že mu každý z nás otvorí. Ježiš chce, aby sme boli všetci spasení. Nechce, aby sa niekto z nás stratil.

V evanjeliovom úryvku minulej nedele (Mt 8, 28 – 9, 1) sme videli Krista vyhnaného z mesta Gadarčanov. Nebol uznaný ako Boh, ani nehovoriac o poďakovaní za dobro, ktoré urobil. Napriek tomu aj dnes pokračuje vo svojom poslaní, naďalej sa stará o nás, svoje deti.

Aj tento evanjeliový úryvok (Mt 9, 1 – 8) je podobný predchádzajúcemu, rozdelený na tých, ktorí majú vieru v Boha a uznávajú Krista, a tých, ktorí sa o to stále usilujú, ale Krista považujú za rúhača.


Odber nových článkov


Tí prví, priatelia ochrnutého, sa za neho prihovárajú u Krista, modlia sa zaňho, dávajú za neho do stávky svoju vieru, presne tak, ako to robí Cirkev. Tí druhí, zákonníci, sú v srdci zlomyseľní. Ale Ježiš, poznajúc srdce každého z nich, oslovuje tých druhých: „Čo je ľahšie – povedať: ‚Odpúšťajú sa ti hriechy,‘ alebo povedať: ‚Vstaň a choď‘?“

Táto otázka by nás mala viesť k zamysleniu

Je lepšie odpustenie hriechov alebo fyzické uzdravenie? Odpustenie je uzdravenie srdca a duše. A keď sú „zdravé“, už nezáleží na tom, čo sa deje okolo, pretože v nás je problém už vyriešený. Na druhej strane, jednoduché vonkajšie uzdravenie je určite dobrá vec, ale súvisí s tým, že skôr či neskôr sa môže objaviť ďalší problém a my sa môžeme ocitnúť v rovnakej situácii ako predtým. Preto by sme mali viac ako po čomkoľvek inom túžiť po uzdravení srdca, po odpustení. A Ježiš je ten, kto nám môže dať toto odpustenie. Záver dnešného evanjelia možno označiť za radostný. Tentoraz zástup neodohnal Ježiša od mesta, ale skrze neho oslavuje Boha.

V našom byzantskom obrade si dnes (09.07.) uctievame svätého Pankráca, biskupa Taorminy. Celý svoj život sa usilovať obrátiť čo najviac ľudí na kresťanskú vieru, dokonca zlikvidoval posvätné sochy démonov uctievaných na jeho území. Podarilo sa mu obrátiť aj tamojšieho miestodržiteľa, keď ho požiadal, aby postavil chrám, ale počas miestodržiteľovej neprítomnosti Pankráca umučili.
