Boh stvoril svet. Boh stvoril nás.

Prečo nás Boh stvoril? Boh nás stvoril, aby sme s ním žili teraz i naveky.

Boh Otec, Syn a Svätý Duch sa navzájom milujú. Boh stvoril každého z nás na svoj obraz. To znamená, že sa máme navzájom milovať.

Boh poslal Ježiša, aby nám ukázal, ako žiť. Ježiš je Boží Syn. Ježiš zomrel na kríži a bol pochovaný. Ale nezostal v hrobe. Vstal z mŕtvych, aby naveky žil v nebi.

Ježiš chce, aby sme aj my, keď zomrieme, boli s ním v nebi.

Boh nás stvoril, aby sme s ním žili teraz na zemi i naveky v nebi.

Boh nás stvoril. Patríme Bohu.

Najdôležitejším sviatkom vzkriesenia Ježiša Krista v rámci cirkevného roka je Pascha (v rímskokatolíckom obrade: Veľká Noc). Keďže Kristus vstal z mŕtvych v nedeľu, Pascha sa slávi výlučne v tento deň a navyše každá nedeľa cirkevného roka je spomienkou na Kristovo vzkriesenie.

Ikona Vzkriesenia nám pripomína, že keď zomrieme, Kristus nás vezme do neba a navždy budeme žiť s Bohom v nebi. Ikona zobrazuje Ježiša, ktorý vzkriesil Adama a Evu, prvých ľudí, aby navždy žili v nebi. Ježiš ich vyvádza z temnoty smrti. V spodnej časti ikony v temnote vidíme reťaze, zámok a kľúč, ktoré nám pripomínajú, že sme väzňami smrti. Smrť sa pokúšala uväzniť aj Ježiša, ale on roztrhal jej reťaze. Ježiš premohol smrť.
